Sunset

This series of work primarily focuses on the first stage of interaction- when we meet someone and how they effect our lives as a whole and how the connection grows. “Human connection is the most vital aspect of our existence, without the sweet touch of another being we are lonely stars in an empty space waiting to shine gloriously”. Colour, is the most fundamental element of our existence, and defines our world in such an intricate way. Colour is a signifier of our motives and deepest feelings, it is a powerful communication tool and can be used to signal action, influence mood and even influence emotional connection. In this series of work, the two visuals that stay constant are the parallel lines that flow through the inner shapes and the black/white lines around enclosing the work. The visual representation of the parallel lines are to highlight the state of mind of people that connect and run in harmony with each other, but for some reason there is something missing with one or both unable to develop the connection to the next level. The black/white line surrounding the work represents the human mind enclosing all within, unable to express your emotional state to those around you. The factors that change throughout the series is the colours used. If you view the work individually, then the different colours should respectfully remind you of different human connections that you have made. The simple factor is that, the human mind is triggered by colour and that it also reflects and evaluates everything around before making significant decisions. Every time we open our eyes, we learn, we evaluate and we make decisions either consciously or unconsciously, it is those around us that influence our state of mind and our ability to grow. “if only you could sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet: how important you can be to people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself you leave at every meeting with another person”
