Strawberry crush

(Painting will be framed upon placing the order) Red; an archetypal color, the first color humans mastered, fabricated, reproduced, and broke down into different shades. As such, it dominated visual culture for centuries. Putting it into art is a bold statement of power and revolution. Having it as a part of my palette always results in a fun and peppy piece, as is this alcohol ink on round Nara paper. My favorite part about working with alcohol inks is the freedom it permits me to have fun and express myself truly and freely. The myriad of shades of red, going lighter and lighter, exhibit a sense of serenity that I crave from any artwork I see or make. The Roses canvas remains one of my favorites as roses always are a symbol of unblemished elegance. The golden detail separating each rose is to define each rose as its own unique entity. These pieces are truly that pop of color and pep that every home needs!
