Into the woods
AED 2500
I created “Into the Woods” using color gesso and oil paints. I chose black and white to create a more elegant and ethereal feeling. I prepared the canvas with a quality black gesso and then used a large synthetic brush, sponge brushes, and cloth to create the design. I also used my favorite tool- a medium palette knife – to shape the trees and branches. I lived for eight years in a house overlooking the woods and I was always astonished by the incredible designs that mother nature creates in a sun-speckled forest. Beams of light, as if from heaven, change throughout the day as the sun rises and falls and also change through the seasons as the leaves change color and eventually fall from the trees, making the forest appear more austere. After this piece dried, I glazed it with white oil paint and varnished it as well so it will maintain its beauty for years to come. This piece would fit nicely in room near a window with incoming light, and would also be well-suited for an offices space, restaurant, or cafe.
