Glowing Roses

This is another artwork in my series with black backdrops. It has been giving me a sense of pleasure to create this unique artwork with contrasting backgrounds. These make the artworks seem more highlighted and bright and give a sense of a 'spotlight' effect to anyone that looks at it. It is different from usual art pieces that often have a white background. The contrast livens up any space that it is put in. It brings about a modern and minimalist look that is sure to keep on-lookers engaged. This artwork further combines my love for all things floral; specifically roses, with alcohol inks. I have tried to use contrasting imagery to highlight each and every petal and fold in this beautiful flower. The shimmery tones add a touch of glamour to the artwork and further emphasise the shape of the flower. They also pop in a unique manner against the black paper giving it a different look altogether.
