Faces
AED 3100
Abstract portrait artists confront peculiar challenges. When we see faces in everything, that is called pareidolia. When we see everything in faces, that is called empathy. Abstract portraits inhabit a space somewhere between the two, and their artists must contend simultaneously with both. I personally believe the sharp lines of these faces portray the beauty of imperfection. The beauty standards have been set so high for a perfect face, that I think we miss the beauty in how no 2 faces in this world look the same. The background brown is a bold representation of the independence everyone has to be their own unique person, different from any other, and that’s the message I’m trying to convey through my painting.
