Serendipity Series -2

Serendipity is when someone accidentally finds something good. An unsought, unintended and /or unexpected, but fortunate discovery and/ or learning experience that happens y accident. Serendipity is an unplanned fortunate discovery. Here the artist Kavita Sriram has hand sculpted the painting in resin clay on a canvas board. The painting is then painted on the clay. The borders running around the painting are also hand sculpted in clay. The base of the painting on the canvas has been given a textured effect with paper. This painting is framed with a mounting board in creme colour & then framed without glass. The artist has created this series with the relief technique, sculpting the artwork in resin clay. Relief painting is a form of art that combines painting and sculpture, where parts of the surface are raised (or built up) to create a three-dimensional effect before being painted. The painting surface is sculpted or layered using materials like clay and are physically raised from the background to create depth and visual interest.
